State Route 69 (SR 69) is a state highway in West and Middle Tennessee that runs parallel to the Tennessee River for the majority of its length. SR 69 carries both primary and secondary highway designations and is routed through rural areas. Route description Wayne, Hardin and McNairy Counties SR 69 begins in Wayne County at the Alabama border near Florence, AL, continuing as (AL) SR 20. It runs a short distance in Wayne County, with no major intersections, and crosses into Hardin County. It then goes through Walnut Grove and begins a northwest course. It then turns north and enters Maddox and intersects SR 226. It continues north through Walkertown and enters Savannah. In Savannah, it has a junction with SR 203. A short distance later, it intersects and becomes concurrent with SR 128/US 64/SR 15. After a couple of blocks, SR 128 separates and turns south. Benton County is a county located in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 15,864. Its county seat is Camden. The county was created in December 1835 and organized in 1836. State Route 15 (SR 15) is a west–east route from Memphis to Monteagle. For much of its route it has an unsigned concurrency with U.S. Route 64. SR 15 does travel through the southern part of all 3 Grand Divisions of the state: West Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, and East Tennessee. Route description Shelby County SR 15 begins as a secondary highway in Shelby County in Northern Memphis at an interchange with SR 14 (Austin Peay Highway). It proceeds east to Bartlett and intersects US 70/US 79/US 64/ SR 1, where it becomes the unsigned companion route of US 64 and becomes a primary highway. State Route 128 (SR 128) is a state highway in western and western Middle Tennessee. It connects Pickwick Dam with Linden, via Savannah and Clifton. Route description Hardin County SR 128 begins as a primary highway in Hardin County in the community of Pickwick Dam at an intersection with SR 57, just north of the Mississippi state line. The highway then goes north and crosses overtop of Pickwick Landing Dam, which impounds the Tennessee River, before leaving Pickwick Dam and continuing north through rural areas. State Route 226 (SR 226), also known as Airport Road, is a north–south state highway in Hardin County, Tennessee. Route description SR 226 begins just south of Walkertown at an intersection with SR 128. It goes through wooded areas to pass through Maddox, where it has an intersection with SR 69 and passes by the Savannah-Hardin County Airport. The highway then turns northward through farmland to enter Olivet and have a short concurrency with SR 203. SR 226 then comes to an end shortly thereafter at an intersection with US 64/SR 128 (SR 15). Tennessee River
The Tennessee River is the largest tributary of the Ohio River. It is approximately long and is located in the southeastern United States in the Tennessee Valley. The river was once popularly known as the Cherokee River, among other names, as the Cherokee people had their homelands along its banks, especially in what are now East Tennessee and northern Alabama.
